Process

3D Logo Design

Process Overview

For our first project in 3D Graphics, we took an already existing 2D logo and made it 3D. We started by identifying issues, causes, and areas of interest that we are passionate about. Then we reflected and wrote about why one particular area is personally significant. We then researched organizations or businesses that are connected to and support one or more of those areas we selected. Acting as graphic designers doing volunteer work to support a meaningful cause, we redesigned their already existing 2D logo as a 3D graphic - free of charge!

In order to complete the construction of a newly created 3D graphic, we used skills we learned to build the submarine exercise, which included primitive shapes, splines, shape expanders, and shape deformers.  Lastly, we learned how to add color, materials, and lighting to make the new logo more contemporary.

The Breast Cancer Foundation was formed by Janelle Hail who was diagnosed with breast cancers when there wasn't a lot of information on it. She wanted to inform the world on it.

Snow Globe Project

For our second project we were to make a snow globe. To make it we really had to focus on the materials we used and what they look like.

Scooter

As part of the second project, we also had to make a scooter. I decided to go for the classic Razor Scooter look that I used to ride on so much and still own. I tried to make it look like the one I own with the blue. Unfortunately in the final render, the colors messed up for some reason. I liked making this because it reminded me of all the fun times I had on scooters with my friends.

Gratitude Gift

One of our projects was to make a gift for someone we are grateful for. I wanted to make something my best friend of now 13 years, Maeve. We met at gymnastics and made so many memories. She was one of the reasons that it was so hard to move. I wanted to make her a gift based on where we created many memories, a trampoline and the tree trunk that we would use to get on to it.

Yayoi Kusama Remastered

Prompt 1: Is there an event in your life that you would like to obliterate into a millions polka dots?

I want to obliterate the event of moving. It was a very tough time for me and my family. I had to leave all of my friends behind and didn't have a way to contact them for a while.

Prompt 2: Is there a moment you wish you could repeat and hold onto forever, for infinity? Like a vessel of mirrors?

I love the moment of seeing my friends for the first time in a while after being gone. It is indescribable to see people after a long time when you used to see them every day but now I only see them once a year.
